Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA)

Morongo Unified School District provides a full continuum of services to approximately 1300 students with exceptional needs.

Our role is to work collaboratively with parents, students, colleagues, outside agencies and advocates to provide a quality instructional program including related services as determined by an Individualized Education Program Team.

Requirement for Annual Budget and Service Plan

Annually, each special education local plan area must submit a local plan to the Superintendent after review at public hearings. The plan must identify expected expenditures and include a description of services, the physical location of the services, and must demonstrate that all children with disabilities have access to services and instruction appropriate to meet their needs as specified in their individualized education program (IEP).
